Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis are two connected terms increasingly important in relation to sustainable development within the construction sector. This study aims to determine the prerequisites and conditions for companies with circular ambitions when relocating to an eco-industrial park. Furthermore, it explores what services and functions that increase value and enable industrial symbiosis in that context. The study consists of a qualitative approach based on interviews of companies with circular ambitions within the construction industry as well as two experts, and a literature study with a basis in theories surrounding circular economy, industrial symbiosis, eco-industrial parks and strategic nets. Results show the prerequisites are largely grounded in reduced risks as well as profitability and support from the public sector. Services and functions are found to be dependent upon effective communication, logistics and predictable material flows. Conclusively, geography matters less without the means of networking and cooperative measures in an eco-industrial park, and the environmental advantages need support in order to incentivize companies with circular ambitions to risk such an endeavour.
