Sammanfattning

This master's thesis was conducted in collaboration with Axis Communications AB and aims to develop a shock-absorbing wall mount for network cameras, specifically the Q18-series. The problem was identified through aggressive physical testing of the cameras, which can limit design freedom when extending the leverage. The solution focuses on creating a mounting bracket with an integrated damping system, where multiple concepts were developed, simulated, and tested. The chosen solution was an elastomer-based system that demonstrated strong performance in both simulations and physical testing. Results show that the selected design reduces stress in exchange for temporary deformation under impact, making the product more resistant to external forces. The project also addresses sustainability aspects such as cost-efficiency, environmental impact, and ergonomics during installation. The conclusion is that the developed damping system meets the requirements for mechanical strength and practical usability, with strong potential for implementation in other products within Axis' portfolio.
