Sammanfattning

This study examined whether an educational intervention aimed at raising awareness of digital exposure could contribute to increased digital risk awareness among students aged 10–12. Data was collected through questionnaires completed by about 150 students before and after an educational intervention. The intervention was based on a digital forensics and information security perspective and included topics such as digital footprints, online risks and cybersecurity. Data collected before and after the educational intervention were analyzed using a 𝑋2-test to determine whether there was a statistically significant difference in the students results. The results showed that students understanding of digital exposure increased following the intervention. Knowledge of digital footprints and the ability to identify and handle risks in digital environments also improved. However, the results were based on self-reported data and short-term measurements, meaning that it was not possible to determine the changes long-term or the extent to which they influenced students future behaviour on the internet. The study suggested that educational interventions that highlighted digital exposure could contribute to increased risk awareness among students. However, further research is needed to examine long-term effects and how this knowledge could be applied in practice.
