The Devil in Valhalla : The Satanism of Rökkatru

This thesis compares the spiritual milieus of Rökkatru and Satanism through a nondualist theoretical perspective concerned both with the religious application of the theoretical framework as well as the more realist theoretical narrative that can be drawn from the nondualist point of view. The methodical framework used to gather material for the thesis is netnography, an ethnographic method which uses the digital landscape of the internet as its grounds for study. The conclusions drawn relate to philosophical thinking between the two spiritualities. Through websites and forums that relate information and conversation regarding the subject-matter and themes questions have been set up that answers narratives of more philosophical and symbolic connections between the two spiritualities. How the deities venerated share mythological functions that can be seen in both Abrahamic narratives and Pagan narratives.
