Undersökning av förutsättningar och riktlinjer för implementering av AI : Ett nytt konceptuellt ramverk

The recent developments in AI has enabled its use in transforming organizations. Businesses that fail to implement AI into their operations may succumb to competitive pressure in the future. However, the process of implementing AI is neither trivial nor straightforward, as many initiatives fail to bear fruit. Therefore, clear guidelines and frameworks are needed. The purpose of this study is to design a conceptual framework to aid in identifying prerequisites for AI adoption in organizations, while also providing complementary guidelines. This was done with the help of twelve interviews with various experts in the field of AI. The study also aims to apply the developed framework on a representative large construction company. Three interviews were therefore conducted at a large construction firm. Based on the interviews, themes were identified and a new conceptual framework was developed. The new framework, OTECAI, is divided into 3 fields, 9 factors and 31 prerequisites for AI adoption. 39 complimentary guidelines were also created that can be used in combination with OTECAI. Leadership and Data, was a common theme among the interviewees which is reflected in the ranking of the framework. Applying the framework, revealed that there was a strong AI interest in the construction firm's management, as well as a significant safety focus. A lack of an AI specific strategy, along with relevant competencies and data experience was identified. OTECAI and the complementary guidelines have many similarities with past research. Hence, the framework has captured both important aspects from literature and empirical findings.
