The project is located in the Stockholm suburb of Vårberg, southwest of the city center. When walking south from the metro station, one soon sees what looks like an aluminum-clad silo. It is part of an abandoned heating plant that has been turned into an art exhibition hall called Kummelholmen. Built in 1969 by HSB, its purpose was to supply hot water to the area. The structure that looks like a silo was actually a cistern in which oil was stored before being burned inside the old boiler house. The idea of the project was to research how the cistern could be transformed into a new place for art that would complement the activities of the old boiler house. To do so, an application for a building permit was made in order to get permission to install a door into the structure. The green space next to it has also been reshaped into a sculpture garden, and a path was added to make the new entrance accessible to wheelchairs. In the final stage, a structure was built inside the cistern, functioning as a machine for theater, music, and art exhibitions.
