Sammanfattning

Work-related stress is a growing issue in today's society. This bachelor’s thesis aims to examine which factors are associated with work-related stress among the Swedish workforce. This thesis is based on data collected by International social survey programme 2015 - Work orientations: Sweden. The analysis is based on responses from 679 people and is analyzed quantitatively through ordinal logistic regression. The theoretical framework comprises the theory of Alienation, the demand-control model, gender segregation and inequality regimes. The results indicate that the female gender (82,5%), control over work tasks (46,8%), weekly working-hours (5,2%) and working on weekends (22,9%) all were factors that increased the odds for work-related stress. Gender is the variable that has the highest correlation with work-related stress. The results also indicate that higher job satisfaction can lower the odds for work-related stress.
