This study explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into agile project management to enhance knowledge sharing and innovation within project-based organizations. In an increasingly complex and fast-paced business environment, AI is identified as a strategic enabler that can reinforce agile practices and strengthen long-term innovation capabilities. The research combines a systematic literature review with a case study conducted at a leading energy company to identify key opportunities and challenges associated with AI implementation. Findings indicate that AI can reduce administrative workloads, optimize resource allocation, and enable employees to focus on creative and value-adding activities. Successful integration of AI requires gradual implementation aligned with agile principles, continuous training, and a collaborative organizational culture. AI should be positioned as a support for agile methodologies rather than a replacement for human decision making. The study also addresses specific considerations for organizations with strict information security requirements and presents a structured implementation framework. Overall, the results highlight a clear need for AI support in project processes, with the potential to significantly improve efficiency, knowledge exchange, and innovation outcomes.
