Course: Master thesis in Occupational Health Sciences, 30 credits University: University of Gävle Pupose: The purpose of this study was to explore how support pedagogues with at least two years of professional experience in Swedish municipal care perceive their professional identity. Method: A qualitative design was employed. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The findings indicate that professional develops under unclear and limited organizational conditions. Participants described role ambiguity, limited formal authority, and insufficient organizational support, while simultaneously epressing strong professional commitment in their daily work. Professional identity emerged both as a source of meaning and engagement and as a potentiel source of strain when organizational clarity and support were lacking. Conclusion: The study concludes thetprofessional identity in multicipal care is influenced by organizational and structual conditions rather then being solely an individuel phenomenom. Clear role definitions, formal mandate, and support organizational conditions are essential for promoting sustainable professional identity and occupational health.
