Sammanfattning

The goal of this thesis is to derive equations of motion – a system of PDEs and boundary conditions – for an electrorheological fluid in electrostatics. In addition, we are going to consider thermal effects and the role of virtual power. The modeling approach will follow the classic thermodynamic procedure introduced by Bernard Coleman and Walter Noll.
