Title: The two faces of AI Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is a machine that's made to imitate the human cognitive processes and functions. AI has today evolved into a tool that can be used within businesses to simplify work tasks and accomplish objectives through externally collected information. Because of the increased acceleration of digitalisation, AI has become a revolutionary central force throughout organizations. Through externally provided data, AI can make assessments and address threats, which in turn genres value for organizations. In light of this, research projects aimed at developing AI have been initiated by several leading companies. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to enrich the understanding of what possibilities and challenges that arise for employees when AI is implemented within a company. Method: The study has been based on a qualitative research strategy where four semi structured interviews have been conducted with respondents who uses AI in their daily work. Themes and recurring patterns have been analysed through a thematic analysis and linked to the theoretical framework. The research process through the study has been based on an abductive approach where a deeper understanding of AI:s impact on employees via an alteration between empirical data and theory. Conclusion: The study's findings show that whether the implementation of AI within companies can be interpreted as an opportunity, a challenge, or both depends on how the tool is used, experienced, and the support employees receive within the organization. All of these aspects are essential for the successful implementation of AI in the workplace.
