Sammanfattning

It can be quite tricky to pour a layered drink if you are under time pressure or simply inexperienced. This thesis explores the design and construction of an automatic layered drink maker, which is to be functional, as fast as possible, and easy to use. The prototype was CAD modeled in Solid Edge, and after that constructed by 3D printing, and laser cutting parts. Followed by connecting the electrical components to an Arduino micro controller and programming it to complete its tasks. During the process of constructing the prototype, many different iterations of the components used were made. Some of the changes made were out of necessity, and others were for improving usability and ease of construction. The prototype was then calibrated and it was put through two tests, efficiency and quality. While it is not faster than the test subjects, it can make up to 133 drinks per hour and maintain the quality. After testing the prototype, it was deemed that with some improvements, the prototype could be developed into a functional product, and possibly for commercial use. Although quite niche in function, the prototype does provide the desired result and is easy to operate.
