Sammanfattning

This Bachelor’s thesis in Mechatronics focuses on developing an automatic guitar tuner using a sensor and a motor. Guitar tuning can be challenging for beginners, and an automatic tuner would simplify the process, allowing players to focus on playing. The project combines engineering complexity with practical significance, addressing challenges such as precise frequency detection, motor control accuracy, and system adaptability. To achieve this, various tests were conducted, including experiments with sampling frequencies for accurate pitch detection and optimizing motor speed. Additionally, compact components were used to create a small, user-friendly design. The project resulted in the development of an automatic guitar tuner capable of tuning a standard guitar string within seconds. The device supports all six standard strings and is designed for ease of use. The development of TuneMaster demonstrates that integrating a piezoelectric sensor with a DC motor results in a precise, compact, and user-friendly automatic guitar tuner. With a tuning accuracy of 0.84 Hz and an average tuning time of 5.7 seconds, the device performs efficiently in both practice and live settings. While challenges in balancing cost, size, and performance remain, a market analysis reveals strong interest, particularly among beginners. With further design refinement and cost optimization, TuneMaster has significant potential for market success.
