Sammanfattning

In the last few years, hybrid work has become a new way of working and it has become very common especially after the pandemic of COVID-19. The shift towards hybrid work has not only changed where people work, it has also changed how work environments affect employees’ well- being, productivity and their work-life balance. When the boundaries between private life and work life are becoming blurred, organisations face new challenges in creating workplaces that supports hybrid work and employees’ satisfaction int the office. The purpose of this master’s thesis is to investigate how different work environments, i.e. at home and in an office, affect the well-being, productivity and mental health amongst employees. This study will be focusing on the Swedish labour market where, it will also use a quantitative method to gather data through a survey. This master’s thesis is inspired by a previous research conducted by Srivastava et al. (2024), which explores the perceptions of employees’ view on different environmental and psychological factors that affect their work experiences. The result in this study shows that hybrid work can have a positive effect on the well-being for some people. At the same time, some people can experience that hybrid work increases challenges such as isolation to separate work life with private life. The result also highlights the importance of creating workplaces that supports hybrid work and that organisations need to support their employees in hybrid work. It is important with organisational support to employees since the support can enhance performance and well-being.
