The city needs opportunities and infrastructure to succeed. What's needed is a launchpad for entrepreneurs—a structure that lowers the barriers and costs of starting new ventures. Introducing "Av Oss," a business collective located between the cultural center and the old hospital campus. This new three-story building is transforming an old parking structure into a vibrant entrepreneurial hub. The location is strategic, positioned on the edge of the town center. The site currently feels like the back end of the cultural center and hospital, but it has the potential to revitalize the area. The existing parking structure's corner intrudes on the square, making it a focal point. This new building aims to attract foot traffic, revitalizing the stagnant square and creating a flow that other businesses can benefit from. The old concrete framework of the parking structure will be partially preserved and integrated into the new design. The roof will be removed, and internal modifications will include adding a new insulated slab and a glulam pillar grid to support the new floors. The ground floor will feature a dramatic entrance, housing a market and food court. This space will allow new and small vendors to test their products, including locally student-brewed beer and fresh produce. It's designed to be a vibrant gathering place for the community. The middle floor will be open and well-lit with large windows. It will serve as a flexible exhibition space for entrepreneurs to showcase their products. There's also a café area that can double as a study and workspace, with the capability to host events that can extend to the terrace. The top floor will offer office spaces for businesses to rent. These offices will cater to individual entrepreneurs, small groups, and growing companies, providing all necessary office infrastructure. As businesses expand, they can move to larger spaces at the floor. Overall, "Av Oss" aims to be a dynamic center fostering innovation and community engagement, helping Nynäshamn thrive economically and socially.
