Sammanfattning

This study aims to examine and investigate several factors influencing high school students' learning of mathematics when taught in languages other than their native tongue. A range of academic research articles was sourced from multiple databases to support this investigation. The analysis is structured under two main themes: the students’ perspective and the teachers’ perspective. Each theme is further divided into three key subcategories, identified as the most critical aspects within each domain. For instance, the findings indicate that incorporating translanguaging strategies in the classroom significantly enhances learning outcomes. However, other elements, such as differing attitudes and approaches adopted by teachers, as well as the influence of parents’ perceptions, also play a pivotal role in shaping students’ comprehension and engagement with mathematics as a subject.
